We asked you: Why would you like to race in a women’s-only event?Would you like to see more women’s triathlons in the UK? Overwhelmingly, the response was that a women’s race is so much more supportive and fun and that YES!, you would love more women’s races.
While it was difficult to choose from all of the amazing responses, we are happy to announce that Marion Moore and Rainy Marsh are the winners of a FREE entry to the Venus Women’s Only triathlon in July.
Marion inspired us with her commitment to triathlon, despite her initial fears that being overweight would make her the ‘odd one out’, while Rainy fits training around a hectic family life (she has three kids!). Both impressed us with their enthusiasm and dedication.

The Venus Women’s Only Sprint Triathlon on 20 July, 2014, consists of a 500 metre swim, a 20k cycle, and a 5k run.
The open water swim takes place in the crystal clear waters of Capernwray Dive Centre, which is one of the cleanest and best regarded open water swimming venues in the North West. The one lap bike course takes in the scenic and quiet lanes of the countryside around Capernwray Dive Centre and passes through the pretty local villages such as Over Kellet, Arkholme and Capernwray. All of the course is on good quality minor roads and offers an engaging mix of gentle climbs, smooth descents and some fast flat sections. The run course is fast and flat, with the majority of the route being away from roads along the scenic canal path.
Both a novice and competitive start time will be offered, so the race is perfect for all levels.
